Balkan.Is.A.Trek was founded by a multicultural couple with deep ties to Greece, the Balkans, and the Alps, united by a shared passion for wild landscapes, timeless stories, and meaningful, human-scale travel.

At the heart of each journey is Dimitrios Gkatzanopoulos, a Greek internationally certified mountain guide with over 20 years of experience in tourism and leading treks across the region. His love for nature and mythology, paired with deep local knowledge and a strong sense of safety and professionalism, shape every itinerary.

Working closely alongside him is Sabrina Augé, his long-time partner. A multilingual cultural specialist with a background in wellness and tourism, Sabrina ensures the smooth flow of your experience — from behind-the-scenes logistics to warm, attentive hosting at the Greek lodges. For those who wish, she also offers yoga sessions upon request, adding a gentle, mindful layer to the journey.

Together, we are a tight-knit and intuitive team, committed to creating real, enriching, and unhurried adventures — journeys where guests feel truly welcomed and cared for.
